" I believe in the future harmonization of these two states, apparently so contradictory, which are the dream and the reality, in a kind of absolute reality, in a overreality or surreality, if it can be named like this".
Reality or dream, dream and reality. Search of the balance between both: im-balance.
The reality is, actually, an illusion, an alteration of what we are, of what we feel.
In our dreams we do not act and we live with no fear of being judged, overcoat for ourselves …
Black or white, rejection to the madness, dichotomy which completely cancels the capacity of imagination. “The spirit scarcely dares to express itself ". The details get confused in the surface, everything is ambiguous, absent … that is what I must do, it is what I promise, what I have got under control, it is the rational thing … it is the loss of the sincerity, the emptiness … the incomplete thing.
The incomplete thing is completed in the dream, it acquires colour and texture, the shapes with no sense achieve naturalism, “that wonderful day existed, that animal spoke ". The feelings are capricious, vital, and sincere. That is what I feel; it is what I carry out, the freedom, the irrational thing. “Everything is gorgeous facility.”
“Probably it has arrived the moment in which the imagination is close to exercise again the corresponding rights.”
(Sentences extracted from the first Surrealistic Manifest, André Breton.)
