FASHION ART by MANUEL FERNÁNDEZ
In alliance with Spanish and Latin-American painters I carry out a proposal where fashion and art combine in the fabric in order to exchange information and to suggest a new language. On one hand, after having known the work of each one of the artists, I have created a collection of cloth costumes which achieve the function of three-dimensional support; on the other hand, the painters have expressed their personal technique and their way to communicate. Changing into this conjunction our vision of the body and of the volume, and multiplying the admiration angles of a work of art.
The art - design alliance creates a new visual language, where the artist is the main character and the designer the stage support ".
Fashion Art is born in 1998 when Manuel Fernandez, for the first time, invites a new artist to work in one of his designs. Since then up to today, he carries out a proposal which do not try to exploit neither to project the image and reputation of the designer, but to analyze the cultural interaction, the crossing of aesthetic references between plastic artists and the design in fashion, in which the respective languages are articulated and joined in order to create a garment which in itself is an art's work.
Fashion Art's singularity lies in his lively personality and in constant development character. It is not a conventional exhibition, but a research work about the interaction of the plastic arts, and the design of the fashion, and its aim is to create a Collection which serves to offer clear, diverse and rich example about the matter. As it goes around cities and countries the exhibition is growing with the incorporation of new artists, achieving so an exhibition in permanent progress.

Fashion Art is displayed for the first time in Europe in two presentations fostered by Valencia Fashion Week. The first one of them as an inaugural parade, and the second one as an exhibitor project in the Principe Felipe Museum of the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciencies.
For this exhibition the ceramic brand Peronda will build an stage from a MUSEISTIC project designed by Manuel Fernandez and inspired in the world of the runaway, executed by the N C T (Non Contact Technology) system, a decorative digital system by ink over ceramics, in order to create an atmosphere which wraps these works of art over costumes.
