COLLECTION ESTO ES TODO / SPRING-SUMMER 09
“Yes; life had decided for him – life and the infinite curiosity that he felt for it – Eternal youth, infinite passion, secret and subtle pleasures, burning joys and even more burning sins…he was going to possess all these things. The portrait would assume the weight of his shame: that was all.”
The Picture of Dorian Grey. Oscar Wilde.
The idea of eternal youth together with beauty is justified as the only value in the world. Nothing is of any value without them and everything can be forgiven with them…there is no need for explanation.
The collection has been created under three series that correspond to three states that are contemplated in Wilde’s novel: Vanity, madness and alienation.
Under the search of a new type of hedonism, the image of the Greek ideal and its representation of beauty is taken as the starting point and little by little, elements that are clearly masculine are introduced into the garments in order to achieve a subtle representation of the tail coat, which is a symbol of decadent Victorian society and dandyism. |
