COLLECTION: A BIRD’S-EYE VIEW
AUTUMN-WINTER 08-09
Philosophy
Rural landscapes of fields in Castilla. Outlined geometry through paths and roads and interspersed nature. Barren and combed cultivation with the visual composition being in the poetry of Antonio Machado.
Silhouette
Straight and lengthened silhouettes that insinuate bodies and mark natural shoulders, with the waists being minimally beneath the anatomical ones and they evade the hips.
Line
Making bodies geometrical, outlined by textures and colours, in the way of the post-cubist rural workers of Rafael Zabaleta, achieved through the quartering of patterns, the strategic gathers and well-elaborated finishes.
Tissues and colours
Textured woollen and cotton cloths, smooth and embroidered serge, printed fabric cotton knitwear, cotton and woollen knitwear, jacquard style knitwear, elastic woollen tenons, silks and velvets.
Greens, browns and raw colours from the fields accompanied by the shades of orange and reddish colours from the vegetation contrasting with navy, black and grey. |
