COLLECTION GREAT GATSBY
AUTUMN-WINTER 08-09
Philosophy
The roaring twenties dominated by romantic women with subtle figures and languid looks, a fringe of short hair and pale hands holding long pipes and cigarettes emitting smoke…
These are ethereal women who are surrounded by a halo of mystery, wrapped in gauzes and pearls on sets of art-deco furniture and shadows of Afghan shepherds with echoes of Charleston and distant jazz notes in long nocturnal evenings.
And there is passionate love that is crazy and rash, like a true reflection of a captivating time that is now lost.
Structure
From the reinterpretation of this time period arises a collection that has a clear romantic vocation, of the simple silhouette that is dominated by high waistlines, by wide trousers and vaporous bodies, voluptuous coats, adjusted-profile cocktail dresses and long evening dresses.
There is an indisputable prominence with regard to detail, be it in the form of folds and pleats, in chimney collars, in loose short capes for jackets, inlaid pearls or ample embroidery work in the form of cameo for the back.
It is manufactured based on a match between light gauzes and heavy crepes, Mikado with an effect on the memory that recovers the forms bestowed by the patterning, taffetas with printed floral fabrics that are hand-painted, fantasy Scottish tartan designs, translucent ottoman, flowers in the Jacquard knitted style that are inlaid petal by petal, tulle with flocking ready to serve as lace with sinuous art-nouveau forms and details in “gazhar” and sequin for nocturnal glitter.
Colour
It is based on the pallet of powdered colours that start from pale pink, raw colours and sandy tones. It is a range of colours that evolves towards a second family that is dominated by mauve and anthracite grey until it culminates in a family that is determined by a black colour that is combined with a white that is tinged in stone. |
