INFRA LEVE- ALLEGORY ABOUT OBLIVION COLLECTION
SPRING-SUMMER 08
“The posible” is an “infra leve (light – adj)”. The possibility that several coloured tubes become a “Seurat” is the specific explanation of the possible as an “infra light”.
On implying the possible, becoming something, the passing from one to another takes place within the “infra light”. Marcel Duchamp.
A caress is an “infra light” sensation.
The acceptance of the direction that indicates the sign of an arrow produces an “infra light” reaction.
The light whistle of trousers brushing past while walking is an “infra light” sound.
The dust accumulated for months creates a grey-coloured “infra light”.
A spider’s web is an “infra light” element.
Glass is an “infra light” material.
Duchamp took an interest in all those elements and facts that go by unnoticed and that escape from common sense. He wanted to make us think about all the things that aren’t evident, which cannot be totally known through reason, that which involves deep observation, ingenuously suggestive poetics.
Each collection implies a process of reflection, creation and execution. “Infra light” processes that are concluded in the presentation of the same. The development only makes sense if these processes exist.
The collection in itself is a process that materialises with the union of all those things: a fruit of the poetic imagination. |
